This should be in scraps (perhaps even deeper below scraps) when it comes to quality.... But I had this idea last night when thinking about what's out there.... beyond what our imaginations can come up with. Here's this poor box creature that has spent all his life in a box, living in a box house, driving his box car, watching 'the' box (TV ) when suddenly he discovers a doorway in his box universe that bares a handle in a shape he could not have even possibly dreamed up. He opens the door, steps outside his box and witnesses something beyond his wildest imagination,.... the unimaginable....... Can you fathom witnessing something beyond your imagination? Is it even possible? I don't know.
So.. this is one of three ideas for art I had yesterday while listening to a song by Korn called "Hollow Life".
Yep,... he sure did. He had no idea what he would find behind that door, but this was beyond his comprehension. Straight lines is all he ever knew, so who would have ever guessed that lines could be squiggly or round too?? In his box world this was an impossibility.
O.K. let me try to explain slowly. You know how we imagine terrible beasts, dragons, aliens, etc. etc. Well,..... what if there is something out there that's beyond our imagination?
I mean, everything we've ever imagined comes from something we've seen in real life. Dragons are nothing but dinosaurs. We give them scales like we see on fish, we give them horns like we see on cows and deer, we give them wings like we see on bats. All these imaginary creatures are just compositions of hundreds of different animals located right on this planet. They might seem "imaginary" to us, but in reality they are not that fantastical at all. We do the same to aliens. We draw what we've seen right here on earth,... like birth defects.
Anyway,.... so here is this guy who's local universe/galaxy is shaped like a box. Everything in that universe looks like a box. The box is a metaphor for our universe/galaxy that WE know, we are, we've seen, we've experienced. The box guy has never seen anything that wasn't a box or shaped like one. He has absolutely no concept of a wavy line, because he has never seen one in his life.
Here he finds a doorway out of his box-shaped galaxy/universe, opens the door, steps outside and is completely surprised by what he sees outside the box he calls home. It's mind-blowing to him, just like it would be mind-blowing to us if we suddenly experienced a world that was absolutely NOTHING like the one we know, where our physics do not apply, where things are not made out of molecules,.... well.... you get the picture. It would just be unimaginably different.
So I guess what I'm trying to say or ask is; Is it possible for us to imagine something that has absolutely no basis in our world? Can we think about a world completely unlike ours without having to physically see it first?
Interesting. I was just funning when I said you lost me. I get what you're saying.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

j/k!
Interesting idea. You lost me with the box in a box in a box... and then a circular doorknob? I'd be confused too.
