white charcoal pencil on tinted paper. (an older piece,..from two years ago)

This piece is #4 in a series of four pieces. It is a very morbid piece, on the verge of being inappropriate (well...actually I do think it is inappropriate, yet I did it anyway). This is the scene of a famous Formula 1 crash during the horrible Imola weekend of 1994, where a famous race-car driver (Ayrton Senna) killed himself in a car accident. (Aside from him, Roland Ratzenberger, another driver, died. He was the first one to die that weekend. Senna became distraught about his friend dying, and when two more accidents occured, he did not want to go out and race. He had a bad feeling about it all. No one wanted to pressure him into racing that weekend, but he said he would go out there anyway). The fault (as many fans believe) was with the car. He was one of the best, if not THE best driver in the sport, and had many fans (still does to this day). Many argue that had Ayrton still been alive, Schumacher may not have had a chance to become the champion that he is today. It would have been exciting to watch the two of them battle it out.
After I completed this piece, I fell asleep and dreamed I had won a contest. My prize was being able to take Ayrton's Formula 1 car around the track. As I got into the car, he came up to me and gave me some advice; "Concentrate on the track and nothing else. Look straight ahead. Block everything else out of your head." I remember being so excited about it all. I could not believe it was happening,....that Senna was actually talking to me and giving me advice.
Poor Senna.
