Have you ever seen more genuine wonder than this? Maaike is a friend's new baby girl. We were visiting with her and I had my camera with me. We were standing in front of the pool when suddenly Maaike saw something in the sky and turned her head to look. She is only about a month old, so everything in this world is completely new and interesting to her. I've never noticed this look in babies before (probably because I don't spend too much time around new-borns). When I saw that face I just had to pull out my camera as quickly as I could, and snapped a couple of shots. Unfortunately it did come out a little bit blurry because it was getting dark outside and I didn't want to ruin the natural light on her face with a flash. Jody was moving her from side to side, so my camera couldn't keep up with these conditions. Regardless, I think this shot says it all. I decided to enter it in a photo contest today titled "Wonders of Life". The title made me think of this photo, so pray for me or send positive thoughts. I want to win!!!
I love that expression on babies, I have seen it in my own. Nice timing for the photo. She is beautiful, your friend must be very proud. Good luck with the contest.
awww so so cute! the baby is adorable. this really caught my eye on the main page. lovely work.
also if you have a moment check out this fantastic photo i just came across - click here! i think you would enjoy it. (sorry if you did not want me to send you this link.)
Thank you so much! She really is a cutie and I'm so glad I had my camera with me. Jody is very happy with her new baby and is experiencing being a mother for the first time.
This is so beautiful, and really captures the curiosity babies have. I just had a little boy (he just turned three months!) and I've seen this look on his face often, and it's more prominent as they days go by. This picture really stirs something about how wonderful this world can be. Thanks for sharing!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
